As I begin blogging about the world of tech and more, I believe that publicizing what we do within Pebble will help bridge the gap between financial customers and the institution. Visibility, transparency, and communication and key points that our team believes will make the world of personal finance a better place. We're constantly pushing ourselves to create new product features to conquer the quest towards a better financial system. Time to time, we sign on a new partner or push a big update. This time, it happens to be both. Today, we are excited to have unveiled Pebble version 1.1.0. This new update welcomes 100+ merchant partners

into our ecosystem, user experience enhancements, and more! Let’s dive right in.

1. Cash Back

The average card in the United States offers 1% cash back. And they are usually riddled with account requirements, high credit checks, and cash back limits. As we began designing Pebble, providing users a simpler and more freeing financial system was our biggest priority.

Update 1.1.0 will take this to new heights, as you can now earn instant & unlimited 5% cash back at more than 100 major restaurants, gas stations, retailers, coffee shops, and more. There’s also an enhanced filtering and search feature to navigate our long list of merchants. We’ve added a barcode expansion feature so you can easily pay at any cash register. Finally, Pebble can help you calculate your tip amount at any restaurant you go to!

Oh, and of course, there aren’t any credit score requirements or fees in the mix.

2. Visualization

Current financial products constantly leave you in the dark. Why showcase brightly how much APY you’re earning (average of 0.04%) if it’s so low?

Now, you can view how much APY rewards you’re earning right from the Pebble home screen. We’ll also help you calculate what APY or Cash Back reward you’ll be earning right from the deposit or purchase screens.

Additionally, the cash back you’ve earned since joining Pebble, in the last month, or week will be directly presented at the top of the Cash Back screen. This is your financial life, and giving you more visibility brings us another step closer towards our mission of creating a fairer system for all.

3. Guide-through

While our team is always available for a quick chat or call to onboard users into the Pebble ecosystem, we wanted to make it even easier. That’s why we’ve created an app guide-through for all new users — showing you exactly how to take advantage of every single one of Pebble’s features!
